About

Founded in 2006 as a think tank for leading international academic orthopaedic centers, the mission of the International society of Orthopaedic Centers, Ltd. (ISOC) is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and cutting-edge practices among these centers and to work together on issues pertaining top atient care, education and research in order to make global improvements in orthopaedic care.

To further that mission, ISOC, which is currently comprised of 22 premier orthopaedic centers from 18 different countries, established an exclusive Traveling Fellowship Program.

The ISOC Fellow will be responsible for preparing an article for publication based on his/her fellowship research at the conclusion of the Fellowship for publication and will be required to present the paper at the following ISOC conference.

To be considered for the ISOC Traveling Fellowship, applicants must meet the minimum criteria below:

1) Have an appointment at an ISOC member center (i.e. staff surgeon)

2) Have completed an accredited residency program in orthopaedic surgery

3) Participate in clinical and basic science research

4) Speak English fluently

5) Be able to obtain international travel visas

6) Be able to attend the ISOC conference in Spring 2022 at Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Italy to present research paper and discuss fellowship experience

The Fellow may select three ISOC centers to visit for the Traveling Fellowship.

Applications for the 2020 ISOC Traveling Fellowship will be accepted through November 15, 2019. The final selection will be made by December 30, 2019, and the Fellowship term will begin February 2020.

The ISOC Traveling Fellowship is designed to provide highly qualified post-residency and post-fellowship orthopaedic surgeons exceptional training in the treatment and management of both operative and non-operative orthopaedic conditions in leading international orthopaedic centers.

ISOC selects one exceptional candidate each year for the Traveling Fellowship, providing that individual the opportunity to train at three internationally-renowned orthopaedic centers(ISOC member centers) and be part of a structured clinical and research program.

During the one-year fellowship term, the Fellow will spend a total of six months training abroad at three different ISOC centers, spending two months at each center.
